Summer 2022
The following programs have made application requirement changes:
Computer Science (All CS Programs) - Waiving GRE requirement for summer 2022 applications
Criminal Justice (MCJ) – waiving recommendation letters for summer 2022 applications for students with an undergraduate GPA of 3.25 or higher
Criminal Justice & Public Administration Dual Degree (MCJ/MPA) – waiving recommendation letters for summer 2022 applications for students with an undergraduate GPA of 3.25 or higher
Electrical Engineering (MS & Ph.D.) - GRE is waived for summer 2022 applicants
Fall 2022
The following programs have made application requirement changes:
Chemistry / Biochemistry (MSc) - GRE is waived for all UCCS students, GRE is waived for all other applicants if their GPA is 3.2 or higher
Computer Science (All CS Programs) - Waiving GRE requirement for Fall 2022 applications
Criminal Justice (MCJ) – waiving recommendation letters for fall 2022 applications for students with an undergraduate GPA of 3.25 or higher
Criminal Justice & Public Administration Dual Degree (MCJ/MPA) – waiving recommendation letters for fall 2022 applications for students with an undergraduate GPA of 3.25 or higher
Electrical Engineering (MS & Ph.D.) - GRE is waived for fall 2022 applicants
Psychology (Ph.D. & MA ) - The GRE will not be required for Fall 2022 applications
Psychology (MA only) - Fall 2022 deadline extended to January 7 due to campus closure for winter break
Spring 2023
The following programs have made application requirement changes:
Computer Science (All CS Programs) - Waiving GRE requirement for Spring 2023 applications
Electrical Engineering (MS & Ph.D.) - GRE is waived for Spring 2023 applicants
Psychology (Ph.D. & MA ) -The GRE is waived indefinitely.
Fall 2023
The following programs have made application requirement changes:
Psychology (Ph.D. & MA ) - The GRE is waived indefinitely.
ETS is now offering at home testing for the TOEFL iBT test and the GRE General Test in most countries while test centers are closed. To learn more about the tests and see if you are eligible, visit websites for the TOEFL iBT Special Home Edition test and the GRE General Test at home.
To learn more about the GMAT online test and see if you are eligible please visit the GMAT Online website.
To learn more about the IELTS Indicator and see if you are eligible please visit the IELTS Indicator website.
In addition to the standardized testing (https://www.uccs.edu/graduateschool/english-proficiency-requirements), here are some of the options for you to consider:
- Are you in a post-secondary program where English is the language of instruction? If your answer is no, proceed to #2-5 below.
- If you have attended a post-secondary institute which offers the curriculum in an English medium, please email us a letter issued by the school official confirming the curriculum was taught in an English medium. We will reassess the English proficiency admission requirement for you upon receipt of the letter.
- Depending on the country of residence, TOEFL can also be taken online http://www.ets.org/s/cv/toefl/at-home/. The UCCS ETS code is 4874, please send the score to UCCS and email a Test Taker’s Copy to gradapp@uccs.edu as soon as the score is available.
- Depending on the country of residence, IELTS Indicator can be taken online https://www.ieltsindicator.com/. Please send the score report to gradapp@uccs.edu as soon as scores become available.
- UCCS also offers an English proficiency test online: https://www.uccs.edu/languagescenter/KITE
- Online Duolingo English proficiency test: https://englishtest.duolingo.com/
