The GRE general test is offered year-round. The GRE revised General Test measures critical thinking, analytical writing, verbal reasoning, and quantitative reasoning skills that have been acquired over a long period of time and that are not related to any specific field of study. The GRE is required for a large variety of master's degree and doctoral degree programs. For registration and information, visit the GRE website.

There are also GRE subject tests for eight academic subjects, which you may or may not need depending on which school and program you are applying to. The GRE subject tests are offered in September, October and April. Please visit the GRE website for specific times, dates and current costs.
