The GRE is taken by individuals applying to graduate schools. The GRE general test is offered year-round. The GRE revised General Test measures critical thinking, analytical writing, verbal reasoning, and quantitative reasoning skills that have been acquired over a long period of time and that are not related to any specific field of study. There are also GRE subject tests for eight academic subjects, which you may or may not need depending on which school and program you are applying to. The GRE subject tests are offered in September, October and April. Please visit the GRE website for specific times, dates and current costs.

(GMAT) The Graduate Management Admissions Test
The GMAT is taken by individuals applying to graduate schools in business. In some cases, the GRE is all that is required, but the GMAT may be used instead of the GRE or in addition to the GRE for business graduate schools. The MAT is taken by individuals applying to particular programs in graduate schools. The MAT is a high-level mental ability test requiring the solution of problems stated as analogies. (LSAT) The Law School Admission Test
The LSAT is taken by individuals applying to law schools. The paper-based LSAT is usually offered through national testing dates in September/October, December, February and June. (MCAT) The Medical College Admission Test

(TOEFL) Test of English as Foreign Language
The TOEFL-iBT exam is taken by individuals whose native language is not English and who are applying for admission to colleges and universities in the U.S. Note that TOEFL is used for both undergraduate and graduate admission of international students at UCCS.
