How to submit transcripts:

Unofficial transcripts are accepted for admissions review. You can upload unofficial transcripts in the application. If you are offered admission, one official transcript from the degree granting institution must be submitted directly to UCCS prior to your enrollment of the second term.  

UCCS reserves the right to determine if a transcript is official or unofficial and whether it will be reviewed or not reviewed for admission purposes. Additional transcripts may be required to verify prerequisites or major coursework if the graduate department deems necessary.

Applicants with International Transcripts
  • Review your program of interest's requirements
  • Review the UCCS ESL proficiency requirements
  • Refer to "How to Submit Transcripts" below for instructions on how to submit your official transcripts with certified English translation to UCCS
  • International transcript evaluation: An official, course-by-course transcript evaluation by any NACES or AICE member is required for all students who completed coursework outside the U.S.  If you do not have an International Transcript Evaluation from any NACES or AICE member, UCCS offers all applicants a free evaluation through SpanTran. Upon the successful completion of your online application, you will receive a private link to upload each foreign post-secondary transcript from institutions you have attended. These transcripts must include all courses and grades, must be issued in the original language, and be accompanied by certified English translations when applicable.

Non-Degree Seeking/Unclassified Applicants
  • Graduate-level students can take 9 to 12 credit hours as an non-degree student. Some programs will allow you to apply those credits to a Master's program.
  • Refer to your program of interest to see if they require transcripts

UCCS Streamlined Application

The Streamline Application is designed to offer outstanding UCCS students and alumni an expedited application to graduate school in participating programs.

  • If you are interested in applying, please fill out the regular application. Once you select that you have previously attended UCCS, it will ask you if you will be submitting the streamlined application. Apply online NOW!

UCCS Accelerated Masters Program

The Accelerated Master's Program (AMP) allows high achieving students to pursue existing Bachelor's and Master's degrees in an accelerated manner. The program is normally a 5 - 6-year program for currently enrolled full time UCCS students and allows students to take graduate level courses which will count towards graduation requirements for both their Bachelor's and Master's degrees.

Declaring Intent:

If you are an undergraduate student at UCCS in one of our programs that offers an AMP degree plan, please read through the student steps for the admission process.

If you decide this program seems like a good fit, your first step is to submit the intent application. This form will be approved by the program and placed on your undergraduate record. This allows the university to know that you intend to enter in to the master's program with these dual counting courses.  The approval of the intent application also allows you to begin taking graduate level courses that will count towards both programs.

Scholar Program Application Fee Waiver Options

If you were involved in one or more of the following scholar programs, you may be eligible for an application fee waiver. When you apply, you will be asked to upload a letter of verification from the program coordinator.

Financial Need Based Application Fee Waiver Options

To qualify for a financial need application fee waiver, you must fall in to one of the following categories:
College seniors:
1. A dependent, who has Student Aid Report (SAR) that shows a parental contribution of not more than $2,500 for the senior year (submit a copy of the 1st page of your Student Aid Report) OR
2. Self-supporting and have a Student Aid Report (SAR) that shows a contribution of not more than $3,000 for the senior year (submit a copy of the 1st page of your Student Aid Report) OR
3. If you received a fee reduction voucher from ETS to take the GRE test, you qualify for an application fee waiver. Please send us a copy of the fee reduction voucher you received from ETS for the GRE test.

Unenrolled college graduates:
1. Have applied for financial aid, AND
2. Have a Student Aid Report (SAR) that indicates self-supporting status and a contribution of not more than $3,000 (submit a copy of the 1st page of your SAR) OR
3. If you received a fee reduction voucher from ETS to take the GRE test, you qualify for an application fee waiver. Please send us a copy of the fee reduction voucher you received from ETS for the GRE test.

If you believe you might be eligible for a financial need based application fee waiver based on the criteria above, please contact the Financial Aid office at finaidse@uccs.edu. If approved for a fee waiver, you will be provided a code to submit your application without payment.

Military and Veteran Application Fee Waiver Options

Upon selecting one of the following four options as your US Military Status within the graduate application you will not have to pay the application fee:

  • Active Duty
  • Reserve
  • National Guard
  • Veteran

Western Regional Graduate Program (WRGP)

WRGP allows master’s, graduate certificate, and doctoral students who are residents of one of the participating WICHE states (Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado, Hawaii, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, New Mexico, North Dakota, Oregon, South Dakota, Utah, Washington, Wyoming, and U.S. Pacific Territories and Freely Associated States) the opportunity to pay a reduced tuition rate which is currently equal to in-state tuition. Not every graduate program participates in WRGP; see participating UCCS programs HERE.

There is nothing you need to do to claim this award except verify that your permanent address on your graduate school application reflects your residency in a qualifying state. The benefit is automatically applied to your tuition bill, and you are qualified to receive it throughout the duration of your graduate education at UCCS, pending your enrollment in a qualifying program and your continued legal residency in your current state.
