Submitting Official Transcripts
UCCS considers official transcripts to ones sent directly from the institution conferring your degree or the institution posting final grades. High school or college transcripts received directly from the student are considered to be unofficial. Students who submit unofficial transcripts will receive a hold on their account, which may prevent registration. Students should submit final, official transcripts prior to the start of the semester in order to prevent registration holds being placed on their student account.
UCCS offers three ways to submit official transcripts:
Emailed or Electronic Delivery
Official transcripts can be emailed to ugapp@uccs.edu directly from school officials. Transcripts should include the institution’s official seal, date and the Registrar’s signature. This is the recommended way for transcript delivery. Institutions who use the National Student Clearinghouse or Parchment will have the most up to date information for UCCS transcript delivery in their systems. Please ensure emailed transcripts are being sent to ugapp@uccs.edu.
Hard copy official transcripts can be mailed to:
University of Colorado Colorado Springs
Office of Admissions
1420 Austin Bluffs Parkway
Colorado Springs, CO 80918-3733
Official transcripts being mailed should be provided in a sealed, branded envelope addressed from the sender institution. Hard copies should remain unopened until presented to the UCCS Admissions Office.
In Person
If a student is choosing to bring a hard copy transcript to the UCCS Admissions Office, the transcripts should be presented in a sealed, unopened envelope in a branded envelope from the institution. Opened copies of transcripts will be considered unofficial and students will need to resubmit official copies to prevent future registration holds.
Submitting Unofficial Transcripts
Students can submit unofficial transcripts for application purposes. However, if admitted, students (undergraduate and graduate) are required to submit official transcripts via one of the methods above prior to the beginning of the semester to prevent registration holds. It is recommended students submit official transcripts before arriving to Colorado/UCCS to prevent issues after arriving to campus.
For unofficial transcripts, students can submit scanned copies of each (if applicable) high school, undergraduate and graduate transcripts on their application portal or those can be sent to ugapp@uccs.edu (students applying to graduate or doctoral level programs do not need to submit high school transcripts). Please be sure to include the grade legend that corresponds with the unofficial transcript to ensure proper unofficial evaluation for admission decisions.
If you are currently enrolled in courses, you should send your current transcripts, including in progress course work, for your admissions application. You may also choose to submit mark sheets, grade reports, scans of diplomas, or statements of graduation or completion. Final official records and transcripts are required upon completion of the course work or program.
Entrance Exams
Each program has their own criteria for admission requirements, including Entrance Exams. Some programs may require the GRE (Graduate Record Examinations), GMAT (Graduate Management Admissions Teat), MAT (Miller Analogies Test), LSAT (Law School Admissions Test) or the MCAT (Medical College Admissions Test). You can view the admission requirements for each program, including any necessary Entrance Exam information on our Graduate Programs page.
Be sure to check your admission requirements early! It often can take a while to receive your scores.
For the GRE only:
