When your student account has been created by OIT, you will receive an email from OIT with your UCCS login credentials. *Please do not try to claim your account until you have received this email from OIT.* The correspondence will be sent to whichever email was used for your application to UCCS. After receiving your credentials:

• Go to myaccount.uccs.edu, click on “Claim Your Account”. Use your UCCS credentials that were emailed to you to complete the process.
  • If you previously attended UCCS, use your prior account login and password to claim your account.
  • Need help with claiming your account? Call the UCCS IT HelpDesk at 719-255-4357 or visit: http://oit.uccs.edu/get-help.

Go to https://uccs.edu/portal to use the login information creased in Step 1 to login. 

Helpful hint: You should become familiar with your student portal. Your portal can be used to update your contact information, view your financial aid awards, search and register for classes, plus much more!

Once logged into your UCCS Student Portal, select “Records and Registration” in the dropdown box, select “Access Student Self Services”, select “Admissions” tile, select “Accept/Decline Offer”. Here you can choose to accept or decline your admissions offer from UCCS. 

Important: If you choose to accept your admissions offer, it will take 24-48 hours for your account to become active so you can enroll in courses.

Check your admissions letter to determine who your program contact/advisor is for your program. You will need to check-in with your program contact/advisor to determine which classes to enroll in.  A full list of program contact can be found here: https://graduateschool.uccs.edu/graduate-programs/all-degree-programs 

After checking with your program contact to determine which classes to register for, you can enroll in courses during your assigned enrollment period.  Detailed instructions and videos with instructions on registering for classes can be found at: https://registrar.uccs.edu/register. 

• Check with your graduate program department to see if they offer a program specific orientation. 
• All new graduate students are welcome to attend the New Graduate Student Welcome Reception at the beginning of the Fall and Spring semesters. You can register for the New Graduate Student Welcome Reception here: https://graduateschool.uccs.edu/prospective-students/new-student-events
• International Students should also sign-up for i-Wow, which is required for all international students on F-1 or J-1 visas. Sign-up here: https://orientation.uccs.edu/Internationalorientation#iwow

This checklist includes information regarding requesting your I-20 and more. 

After you are accepted, you will receive information on how to request your I-20 in your student email.  Current I-20 processing is 5-7 business days after all documents are submitted/received. 

Immunizations:

The State of Colorado requires you have certain immunizations when attending the UCCS campus. To make sure you are in compliance with the state law, please go to the UCCS Gallogly Recreation and Wellness Center Health Services website at: https://recwellness.uccs.edu/health-services/immunizations . Click on “Immunizations” and follow necessary instructions for submitting records to UCCS. Please contact the Wellness Center at 719-255-4444 if you have questions.

Parking on Campus:

If you are commuting to campus with a motor vehicle, a valid parking permit is REQUIRED to part in most lots on the UCCS campus.

UCCS Lion One Card:

Your Mobile Lion One ID Card works everywhere on campus. Use your mobile ID card to get into your residence hall and campus facilities, access your meal plan, as well as access to PawPrints and your Clyde’s Cash – right from your iPhone, Apple Watch, or Android Phone! The UCCS Scholarship Application, which is housed in your myUCCS portal, will display only those scholarships you might qualify for based upon your declared graduate program, residency status, and GPA. Your portal will not display these scholarships until the scholarship application opens on December 1. Make sure you have completed all requests from the admissions office and have submitted current transcripts to ensure the list of scholarships you are seeing is accurate.

Graduate program departments may also have awards (e.g., scholarships, work study, teaching or research assistantships) for students based on a set of criteria. As a graduate student, you may also be able to find graduate assistantship or teaching assistantship opportunities within your department.
